CTST is celebrating the success of its September recruitment campaign after exceeding its goal of 30 Volunteers in 30 Days and welcoming 36 new people into its volunteer community.
The result reflects the generosity of Tasmanians who chose to share their time, skills and experience to help people in their communities stay independent, included and connected.
Each new volunteer increases CTST’s capacity to help people get to health appointments, shops, social activities and other places that matter in everyday life. Whether supporting clients behind the wheel or in a non-driving role, volunteers create connection, confidence and independence across Tasmania.
CTST thanks everyone who joined during September, as well as the volunteers, service users, staff and community members who shared the Share the Good campaign, told their stories and encouraged others to get involved.
Special thanks to media and community organisations for sharing our story and the difference our volunteers make in the lives of others: Ryk Goddard at ABC Radio Morning Show, Rod Masterton at 97.7 Tasman FM radio, Darren Kerwin at 7AD radio, The Coastal Voice, The Examiner, The North Eastern Advertiser, The Kingborough Chronicle, Great Oyster Bay Community News, Rotary Club of Lindisfarne, Rotary Club of Kingston and Volunteering Tasmania
There’s always a time to volunteer
While the September campaign has ended, CTST welcomes new volunteers at any time. If the timing wasn’t right this time, there’s no deadline on making a difference. Reach out when it suits you.
CTST offers flexible weekday opportunities, driving and non-driving roles, training and ongoing support with options designed to fit around the time people have available. Even a small amount of time can make a meaningful difference for someone in the community.
