15,000 trips to work and training celebrated with a visit from the Minister

Minister for Skills, Training and Workforce Growth tours our office in Glenorchy

Today we welcomed The Hon Felix Ellis MP, Minister for Skills, Training and Workforce Growth to our offices in Glenorchy to learn more about CTST and celebrate an important milestone for our Area Connect jobs transport service.

The Minister was given a behind-the-scenes tour of CTST, meeting with team members, chatting with some of our longstanding volunteers, and enjoying a coffee from our cafe.

Importantly, the tour was a chance for the Minister to learn more about the day-to-day operations of our Area Connect jobs transport service and celebrate the milestone achievement of 15,000 trips transporting clients to work and training.

“This is an extraordinary achievement for our jobs transport service, and we were keen to share this news with the Minister,” said Lyndon Stevenson, Chief Executive Officer of CTST.

“This achievement reflects the hard work of the Area Connect team in building a service from the ground up in such a short time frame. The team continues to build robust relationships in the regions with a range of services, including Job Hubs, Workforce Australia, and training providers, employers, and clients who are the heart of our service.

“It was encouraging to talk with the Minister and share our learnings, and for him to see the difference we are making to improve access to work and training for Tasmanians.

“More broadly, team members and volunteers had the opportunity to showcase the breadth of our work and the impact we are having in the community.”
